Red Juggernaut, a new game company making its
first appearance at Games Expo, has announced three
games for this spring and summer. All of them will
take place in the same fictional setting, the World of
Terris, an earth with a history that diverges from ours
at key points. The games
are set in its medieval periods, with magic, several
additional human species, and other features that
differentiate it from historic earth. The World of
Terris was developed by Red Juggernaut co-founders Jim
Long and Jon Leitheusser (both recently of WizKids),
along with Robin Laws and Scott Hungerford, who wrote
the bible.
First out of the gate will be Battue: Storm
of the Horse Lords, a board game planned for May
release. Players will
control marauding horsemen competing to loot a
city.
The box will contain a board, tiles, tokens,
cards, dice, and a full color rulebook at an MSRP of
$49.99.
An expansion, Battue: The
Walls of Tarsos, is planned for summer.
Mansuba: Challenge of the
Pharaohs is also planned for
summer.
Players learn the game of the Pharoahs, which in
the World of Terris was an ancient kingdom of the Fey,
medieval-era Neanderthals. A board, game
pieces, dice sticks, and a full-color yearbook will be
included.
A third game, Strongholds, will ship in two parts this summer. In Strongholds: Ancient Rivals, the never-defeated Roman empire battles the Fey. In Strongholds: Axe & Shield, a kingdom seeks to secure its northern borders against Dwarven raiders.
